SUMMARY:Hop City 2024
DESCRIPTION:Hop City is back once again in 2024 at the OG home of Northern Monk\, The Old Flax Store! As ever\, we’ll be serving the best hoppy beers from all the world\, from hazy pales to light\, fruity IPAs\, and sour IPAs to big DIPAs & TIPAs. Once you’re through the doors\, you can sample as many beers as you like from around 35 different breweries\, enjoy food from our food vendors and kick back and enjoy the entertainment we’ve got planned for you. We brought back token purchases for last year due to the cost-of-living crisis and all other uncertainties we were all faced with. We love the all-in ticket method\, so this year we’ve decided to give you an option. While most tickets will head back to the all-in method\, we will also have a small allocation of tokened tickets available for those that are still sadly feeling the pinch. \n\n\n\nNow for the important details: \n\n\n\nAll breweries will finish pouring 15 minutes before the end of each session and we ask that all festival attendees leave the site at the end of the session. Please be aware that ‘last orders’ is between 30 minutes and 15 minutes of the session ending. This applies to people attending more than one session so we can carry out the appropriate cleaning measures. This also applies to token purchases\, and we will not be offering any refunds to token purchases\, so please be wary of overpurchasing Our experienced security staff are fully briefed on all safety measures and reserve the right to ask people to leave if they are acting in a way that compromises the safety of others. Our Everyone Welcome initiative plays out across all our sites and highlights the steps we take to maintain the safety of staff\, brewers\, volunteers\, and attendees. This initiative will be accessible throughout the festival as a reminder of our zero-tolerance approach to discrimination and that\, at Northern Monk\, everyone is welcome to share a drink at our table. We run our Everyone Welcome initiative and all breweries invited\, through our Diversity and Inclusion forum.

SUMMARY:Keighley & Worth Valley Railway Beer & Music Festival 2023
DESCRIPTION:Over the weekend\, the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway is transformed into a 5-mile-long Beer & Music Festival across a variety of sites. \n\n\n\nOxenhope Exhibition Shed\n\n\n\nThe main festival site is at Oxenhope Station in the Exhibition Hall where there will be the main Festival bar with around 90 different cask-conditioned ales\, both local and from around the country. Alongside the main bar\, we are joined by local brewers Bridgehouse and Goose Eye with a selection of their cask-conditioned beers\, plus Kirkstall Brewery from Leeds and Brass Castle Brewery from Malton both serving a selection of cask-conditioned and craft-keg beers. We plan to have around 130 beers available at Oxenhope alone! \n\n\n\nHowever\, this Festival is not just for the beer drinkers out there; we have something for everyone. A specialist Cider bar at Oxenhope will be stocking over 30 different ciders from all over the UK\, including draught ciders on keg and some very drinkable fruit ciders. And we don’t leave out wine or gin drinkers; a wine & gin bar will be provided by Martinez Wines of Ilkley\, selling a fine selection of their white\, red and rose wines along with the odd bottle of prosecco and artisan gins. \n\n\n\nFor those non-drinkers who would like to enjoy the event this year\, we intend to have a Low and No-Alcohol Bar in the marquee at Oxenhope located between the cider and wine/gin bars\, and we are currently researching what we hope will be a small but exciting selection for you to enjoy. \n\n\n\nIngrow Station Yard\n\n\n\nOn Friday\, Saturday & Sunday\, we will also have brewery bars at Ingrow\, provided by Harrogate Brewing Co from Harrogate\, along with Amity Brew Co from Farsley\, Vocation Brewery from Hebden Bridge and local Keighley-based Wishbone Brewery. Round Corner Brewing will join us from Melton Mowbray for the first time with Uncommonly Good Beer. \n\n\n\nWe intend to have about 30 beers available at Ingrow\, both cask-conditioned ales and craft beers. There will also be a small selection of traditional and fruit ciders\, and joining us for the first time will be Mel who runs Tipsy Gee Gee from Cullingworth. Tipsy Gee Gee is a mobile bar company with a passion for gins and cocktails\, and they will be offering several different gins\, plus cocktails\, mocktails and hot drinks – both boozy and alcohol-free. \n\n\n\nPlease note entry to the Ingrow Festival site on Friday and Saturday this year will require an Event Day or Weekend Rover ticket or an Admission Only ticket. The Admission Only ticket will be valid at both the Ingow and Oxenhope sites but WILL NOT be valid for travel. \n\n\n\nThe Flying Landlord & The Ossett Brewery Express\n\n\n\nMost trains will have bars throughout the weekend. On Friday\, Saturday and Sunday\, the Railway’s Jubilee Bar Car will be conveyed on ‘The Flying Landlord’ train\, stocking beers from local Keighley-based Timothy Taylor’s Brewery. The Railway’s normal on-train real ale bar will be part of our second named train\, ‘The Ossett Brewery Express’\, stocking beers from Ossett Brewery. \n\n\n\nLive Music\n\n\n\nThere will be live music at Oxenhope and Ingrow from Friday to Sunday\, where approximately 30 groups and solo artists will perform with a wide range of genres\, from pop and rock to jazz and country – there’s sure to be something for everyone. \n\n\n\nFood & Snacks\n\n\n\nA selection of different food offerings will be available at Oxenhope and Ingrow. At Keighley\, snacks can be obtained from our kiosk on platform four during the daytime\, and the more substantial fare will be available from our café bar\, ‘The Old Parcels Office’ located on the station bridge. \n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\nAdvance tickets have been held at 2022 prices. Only Event Weekend Rovers (valid for up to all four days) or Event Rover one-day tickets for Friday\, Saturday & Sunday are available for advance purchase. The Ingrow Festival site will require a ticket to enter. \n\n\n\nIt will not be possible to purchase the following tickets in advance\, and they will only be available on the day of travel (on presentation of the relevant railcard or identity document where relevant): \n\n\n\n\nOne-day tickets for Thursday.\n\n\n\nDiscounted tickets for Heritage Railways Association (HRA) Pass Holders and working members of those railways with which KWVR have a reciprocal travel arrangement.\n\n\n\nReduced-price evening tickets or Admission Only tickets\, if there is any left.

SUMMARY:Whitby Beer Festival 2023
DESCRIPTION:Whitby District Lion’s Club is very excited to announce that The Whitby Beer Festival is a back for 2023! After having to unfortunately cancel the festival for the last two years due to the pandemic. The Whitby Beer Festival is a charity beer festival held in aid of Whitby District Lion’s Club. This year the festival is celebrating its 12th anniversary and the club intends to celebrate the growing reputation of the festival by serving over 30 of the very best artisan ales\, boutique beers and scrumptious ciders from award-winning local and regional independent brewers and micro-breweries. \n\n\n\nThe festival is being held at its traditional venue at the Whitby Mission & Seafarers Centre\, Haggersgate in Whitby\, which is ideally located in the centre of the town. The festival opens its doors from Thursday 27th July until Sunday 30th July. The opening times are from 12 Noon until 10 PM Thursday to Saturday and 12 Noon until 4 PM on Sunday. Entrance tickets cost just £5 which includes a commemorative festival tankard\, which is yours to keep as a souvenir and one beer token (for one ½ pint measures). Entry tickets can then be purchased on the door by either cash or by debit/credit card or in advance at our website whitbylionsclub.org.uk/whitby-beer-festival/. Beer tokens can be purchased throughout the festival. \n\n\n\nLast year the festival raised an amazing £5\,000.00 for Whitby Lion’s with 100% of this been donated to many local Whitby charities\, that the club supports throughout the year. Whitby Lion’s is part of Lions International which is the biggest voluntary charity network in the world with over 1.7 million members. All the money we raise from the festival and throughout the year from our other events is kept and spent locally. The club provides vital funding which can be difficult to access for small independent charities that we support. We also support many personal good causes\, helping people with disability\, learning or health needs. As a club\, we also run our Disability Scooter Scheme which hires out mobility scooters (free of charge) to anyone who has difficulty getting out and about. \n\n\n\nThe festival boasts an excellent range of delicious traditional hand-crafted real ales ranging from pale ales\, IPA’s\, bitters\, blonds\, golden\, dark milds to porters which have all been brewed in small batches using locally sourced ingredients. All our real ales are served from traditional draught casks\, this gives our real ales a fresher authentic taste. You will not find any mass-produced carbonated beer here. We also have an exceptional range of real ciders to enjoy from traditional scrumpy\, dry\, sweet or to the ever-popular fruity ciders such as mango and strawberry. All our ciders have been made from real apples and fruit by dedicated small producers\, who use a natural production method of making deliciously mellow\, aromatic or sweet great tasting ciders. \n\n\n\nOur festival warmly welcomes anyone who wants to sample our great produce from tourists\, day-trippers\, evening goers and real ale enthusiasts. Families are very welcome as soft drinks are available for children and all we ask is for children to be supervised by an adult. Every year the festival is friendly and has a relaxed atmosphere\, especially when the sun is out\, as we have outside seating. It’s a great way to bring along some friends\, family or just by yourself and enjoy our real ale and ciders. \n\n\n\nThe Whitby Mission Café which is located just next to the hall where the festival is been held\, the café serves homemade food all day which will brilliantly complement your real ale or cider. Bar snacks are also available throughout the festival at the bar. \n\n\n\nOn behalf of Whitby & District Lions\, we thank you for your past and continued support and we look forward to seeing you there\, Cheers!
